Team: Sum of the Forces

The team started out by sketching their ideas down on paper.

They then went to the computer and created 3D moving models.

Their design uses a modified bicycle drive system. It had to be modified to reduce the weight.

Here is the front fork and wheel assembly. Paper spacers keep the wheel centered between the forks.

Here you can see the drive mechanism relative to the rear wheel.

A large bolt connects the front fork assembly to the rest of the vehicle. It passes through the two body tubes and the lower and middle cross tubes on the fork.

Team memebers Thanh Nha Le, Quoc Huynh Thai and Chris Corkum won the 2003 first place in "vehicle Performance" award. They set a new course record of 1:55.
