Tech 368 Introduction to Web Page Design

Course Description

This course covers professional methods for conceptualizing, designing, producing, publishing, transmitting and accessing information over the Internet or local area networks. Students design and produce web pages incorporating text, still graphics, animated graphics and audio. Emphasis is on effective visual and logical communications designs.

Week 1

Here is a perfect introductory HTML tutorial at W3C. Use this if you have had very little HTML experience. For CSS tutorials, you might find cssbasics.com useful.

Here is a link to a copy of CoreFTP installer for Windows. Right-click on the file name and download to your hard drive, and then boot the program to install CoreFTP. Also, here is a link to the Core download website.

Added note Thursday April 3: a student confirmed that the FTP (Fetch or CoreFTP) worked when she specified the host to be netstorage.ewu.edu rather than studentweb.ewu.edu. Give that a try if, but if it doesn't seem to work, we will address the issue again on Tuesday. Have a great weekend!

Spring 2008 Final Exam is Wednesday June 11, From 10-12 am. It will be comprehensive, and include multiple-choice items, short answer items, and writing code. A topical guide specific to this test will be made available the last week of class.
